Overview and Review of Princess and The Frog written and directed by Ron Clements and John Musker

Disney adapts the classic Frog Prince. A brilliant animation that can touch a lot of kids out there - and even the adults too. :) I like the jazz music they play and everything about it. It's about wishing on stars and working for one's dreams. :)

Comical and sweet. Wonderful twist of the classic fairy tile The Frog Prince.

The Blind Side - 2009

Category: Movie

Genre: Biography, Drama, Sport

Director: John Lee Hancock

Writer: John Lee Hancock / Michael Lewis

Cast: Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, Quinton Aaron, Jae Head, Lily Collins, Ray Mckinnon, Kim Dickens, Adriane Lenox, Kathy Bates, Catherine Dyer and more.

Overview and Review of The Blind Side written and directed by John Lee Hancock.

This movie was from the book written by Michael Lewis, with the same title. And this may have been the most touching story of 2009. :) It touched me here *touches her heart*.

Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) or Big Mike, like what others call him, is an over-sized, high school kid from Memphis' inner city with no academic records and a drug addict for a mom. He is accepted into a local Christian high school when the football coach recognizes his potential.

You'd almost think the movie would involve a lot of football since it involves the story of a football star. But, this time, the highlight isn't football, but a wonderful story that was well delivered by the main cast and even the supporting actors/actresses.

The first few scenes were touching, makes you want to cry (and it made me cry!!!). I love the acting. Sandra Bullock, is one fine actress (and to say that is an understatement) and she nailed this role pretty well. This could be her best movie to date. Quinton, also did very well. He played the part very well. If not, the audience wouldn't cry. Jae Head was real fun. The connection to the characters at the beginning was established well.

Poignant movie. The movie is great because of the acting and story and not because the scenes or effects are good. Movies like these nowadays are rare. Well done, well done! I recommend for young kids and adults watch it. :)

Kudos to Sandra Bullock for winning the Best Actress Award at the recent Oscar's for this movie. She deserves it!

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief - 2010

Category: Movies

Genre: Fantasy / Mythical / Adventure

Director: Chris Columbus

Writer: Craig Titley (Screenplay), Rick Riordan (Novel)

Cast: Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Abel, Sean Bean, Pierce Brosnan, Steve Coogan, Rosario Dawson, Melina Kanakaredes, Catherine Keener, Uma Thurman and more

Overview and Review of the movie Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief directed by Chris Columbus based on the novel by Rick Riordan

I'm into Greek mythology.. and so that's one reason I wanted to watch this.

It went great (aside from the company, I watched the movie with). We laughed at the originality of name of the camp "HalfBlood". But, the cinematography was great. I did not get to read the novel, so I don't know about any renditions or deviations of the said book.

Entertaining lotus flowers.. you never want to leave.. be awake.. dull your senses.. that's one of the best metaphor i can get from the movie: "about being awake" and "being present".

The movie itself was entertaining and engaging (Although, it has it's own fair share of loopholes) and suddenly I want to be a demigod. :p Haha.

Secrets of the Moonacre - 2008

Category: Movie

Genre: Adventure / Family / Romance

Director: Gabor Csupo

Writers: Lucy Shuttleworth / Graham Alborough / Elizabeth Goudge

Tagline: A Magical Journey Begins

Cast: Dakota Blue Richards, Juliet Stevenson, Tim Curry, Tamas Toth, Augustus Prew, Gyorgy Szathmari, Natascha McElhone

Overview and Review of the movie The Secret of Moonacre Directed by Gabor Csupo.

This movie was adapted from the book by Elizabeth Goudge, called "The Little White Horse".

When 13 year old Maria Merryweather's(Dakota Blue Richards) father dies, leaving her orphaned and homeless, she was forced to leave her luxurious London life with her nanny to go and live with Sir Benjamin, an eccentric uncle she didn't know she had, at the mysterious Moonacre Manor.

I like the enchating setting of the movie, the costumes and all that. The story is well uhmm average, but I like the message behind it though. This movie tackled things about Pride and Greed.

Entertaining yes.... something to pass the time. :)

Absolutely greeeeaaaattt!!

I love the tandem of Robert Downey and Jude Law. It was a great idea to bring them together. They really were perfect for the part. Great depiction of characters! I had to say the British accent and the conversations were way too fast for me to comprehend but I guess a DVD with the subs one day would enlighten me. Haha.

The Secret Hour - Luanne Rice

Category: Books

Genre: Fiction, Romance, Drama

Author: Luanne Rice

Review and Overview of the book The Secret Hour written by Luanne Rice

Two people are brought together unexpectedly. John O'Rourke is a defense lawyer in a small town, defending a serial rapist/killer named Greg Merrill. Merrill is currently in the death row and while the process is going on people are talking behind John's back. John recently lost his wife, Theresa and is doing his best to raise his two kids Teddy and Maggie.

On the other hand, Katy's sister is apparently missing for six months already and Katy was tracking the lead her sister left that lead her to John O'Rourke, she suspected Greg Merrill got something to do with her missing sister Willa.

One great story of Love, Loss and the art of opening one's heart thinking it would never open and love again.....
