SVT #54 - The Big Party Weekend

Category: Books

Genre: Teenage Series

Creator: Francine Pascals

Overview and Review of Sweet Valley Twins and Friends # 54 The Big Party Weekend created by Francine Pascals.

Mr. and Mrs. Wakefield (Steven, Elizabeth & Jessica's parents) are on vacation in Mexico for five days. Steven, Elizabeth and Jessica planned to have the biggest party for the weekend with their friends. That was, before they found out that they would encounter, the world's meanest baby-sitter - May Brown.

But the Wakefield kids are determined to throw the party during the weekend, with great food and their friends - with no adults. They make a plan they copied from a soap opera to get May out of the house.

Entertaining and nice ending - as usual. Good for kids ages 9-14.

If I am in my teenies stage... I would enjoy reading this. So I'm giving it a 3.

SVU Thriller Edition - Killer at Sea

Category: Book

Genre: Thriller

Creator: Francine Pascal

Overview and Review of Sweet Valley University's Thriller Edition entitled Killer at Sea created by Francine Pascal.

Jessica Wakefield and Nick Fox went sailing spontaneously. Nick Fox wanted to be away from his work as a detective because his recent case went haywire and he wasn't feeling up to par. His boss gave him a break to unwind.

Elizabeth Wakefield was deeply troubled of leaving Jessica to Nick that time because Nick was in a bad mood. The gut feeling of a twin sister is taking it's toll. Little did they know Jessica and Nick would pick up to help the guy at sea.

Entertaining. With an air of a "this-should-be-a-tv-series". Not one of SVU's best but equally entertaining.

Nick: You don't need make-up! Who's crazy enough to bring mascara on a sailing trip?
Jessica: Give me a little credit, Nick. It's waterproof.

Sweet Valley High - Lila's Story

Category: Books

Genre: Friendship

Creator: Francine Pascals

Overview and Review of Sweet Valley High's Lila's Story created by Francince Pascals.

This is basically a story that revolves around Lila and her father. Lila's parents are long divorced and Lila is already accustomed to it since all the attention from her wealthy father goes to her. She is one of the riches girls in Sweet Valley and very known to give out grand parties.

But, her father's attention is recently divided to a woman her father is currently dating. Lila is used to her father dating different women but not one woman that her father sees everyday and even to the point where the woman gets to stay in their house along with her daughter.

It's quite refreshing to read this teenie book which I grew up with ever since I was in grade school. Nice story.

SVU - #1 College Girls

Category: Books

Genre: Teenage Series

Created By: Francine Pascal

Overview and Review of College Girls the first book of Sweet Valley University created by Francine Pascal.

Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield along with their friends, Todd Wilkins, Enid Rollins and Winston Egbert are about to begin their COLLEGE DAYS.

Elizabeth's having a bad start; Jessica moving out from their dorm getting stuck with Celine which is a much worst roommate than Jessica was, Todd getting so busy getting "on board" whatever athletes are doing and fitting in, and Enid Rollins is not the same Enid she grew up with.

I had fun reading this book. It took me back to my "Sweet Valley freak days", maybe that's why I still love the series even when I'm all grown up now. :)

The spark of Sweet Valley is still with me......

Very entertaining, comical and exciting as well. :) Good for freshmen in college. :P

SVT #2 - Teacher's Pet - Francine Pascal

Category: Books

Genre: Friendship

Created by: Francine Pascal

Overview and Review of Sweet Valley Twin's #2 Book Teacher's Pet

Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield are both taking ballet lessons.

There's an upcoming ballet recital and Jessica (as always) wants to take the lead, but the trouble is their ballet teacher doesn't notice her because most of the teacher's attention is on Elizabeth, and thus Jessica calls Elizabeth the teacher's pet.

It's a very nice "short" book. It brings back memories when I am so into Sweet Valley and I remember it was like growing up with them. *sigh*

This one is about friendship and sisterhood. :)

for the moral of the story: I'm giving it a 4. :P

#9 Evil Elizabeth - Super Chiller - Francine Pascals

Overview and Review of Evil Elizabeth Sweet Valley Twin's Super Chiller #9 created by Francine Pascal

Category: Books

Genre: Horror

Created by: Francine Pascal

It's Halloween and Elizabeth's looking for the perfect costume for it. She wanted to join costume with Jessica but Jessica doesn't want too. Then, she planned to have the same costumes with Amy and Maria in which the two readily agreed. But, then one night Elizabeth passed by the Old Luna Place (shack), and met a dog with an orange face carrying a grotesque mask. Elizabeth picked it up and was amused by it.

Little did she know the mask possessed an evil power. Anyone who wears it will turn evil and do nasty things.... until one day he/she will be evil without wearing it since the mask consumed him/her.

It's up to Jessica and Steven to save their sister!

It's a nice "teenie" book. I'm sure if I was a teenager I would've enjoyed it lots, since I really love the Sweet Valley Characters and their adventures.
