13 going on 30

Category: Movie

Genre: Chick Flick

Director: Gary Winick

Writer: Josh Goldsmith, Cathy Yuspa

Producer: Revolution Studios, Thirteen Productions

Cast: Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, Judy Greer, Andy Serkis, Kathy Baker, Phil Reeves, Sam Ball, Marcia deBonis, Christa B. Allen, Sean Marquette

Tagline: Every woman has a secret - hers is really magical

13 year old Jenna Rink (Garner) always dreamed of becoming 30 and to be part of the "in" crowd at school. After a total embarrassment during a game on her birthday she wished using a magic dust to be 30. And when she woke up the next day, she was on a body of a 30 year old with her 13 year old mind. She got what she wished for, a knockout body, amazing superstar friends, a wonderful apartment with an extensive wardrobe. During the days of confusion and adjustment, she realized this is not what she truly wants... all she wants was to be with her childhood best friend, Matt.

But then something happened between the years she skipped 14-29..... Can she still bring back the life and best friend she wants?

I enjoyed the film, it's a mixture of magic and love and the modern world. It's light and charming, entertaining and quite unique. It's a girly film that tried to go a little deep and you'd discover the wonders of family and friends at the present moment. :)

Confessions of a Shopaholic - 2009

Category: Movie

Genre: Comedy / Chick Flick

Director: P.J. Hogan

Writer: Tracey Jackson, Tim Firth and more

Tagline: All she ever wanted was a little credit...

Cast: Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy, Krysten Ritter, Joan Cusack, John Goodman, John Lithgow, Kristin Scott Thomas, Fred Armisen, Leslie Bibb, Lynn Redgrave, Robert Stanton

Overview and Review of the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic directed by P.J. Hogan.

Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) from New York a journalist, a certified "shop-aholic" who happens to be a compulsive liar and is currently into deep with her debts because of her credit cards. She always dreams of working in a fashion magazine named "Alette" but landed in a financial magazine called "Successful Saving" run by Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy) and gave her a column called: "The Girl in the Green Scarf". And she's becoming a sensation in all of the business people and making waves.

It's a nice cute story about "shopping". Rebecca sure made a poetic description of shopping and you can see how she loved it. :) It's fun and entertaining. I like the scene with Rebecca's dad at the freezing lake.

Im liking the actor.. and I love the poetic descriptions of shopping. :P Yay!

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde - 2003

Category: Movie

Genre: Comedy / Chick Flick

Director: Charles Herman Wurmfeld

Writer: Amanda Brown / Eve Ahlert

Tagline: This summer. . . justice is blonde.

Cast: Reese Witherspoon, Sally Field, Regina King, Jennifer Coolidge, Bruce McGill, Dana Ivey,Mary Lynn Rajskub, Jessica Cauffiel, Alanna Ubach, J Barton, Stanley Anderson

Overview and Review of the movie Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde directed by Charles Herman Wurmfeld and written by Amanda Brown and Eve Ahlert.

Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) is a Harvard lawyer pushing for a bill that is against animal testing and heads to Washington D.C. to pass the bill. She then simultaneously, plans her wedding while trying to pass the bill.

It's a chick flick very entertaining to ages 13 and above. Not exactly that uh great... but... well.. that's it. :) I'm sure the lawyers won't enjoy this. But, i had a fun time.. it's like dolly-fying the law scene or Washington D.C. in this case. :)

I like the quote: "An honest voice is louder than a crowd's"

Quotes from IMDB:

Elle: Hello, Patriots! I don't think I've been this excited since Gucci became a publicly-traded company.
Timothy McGinn: Oh my God, it's capital Barbie.
Reena: She's so... shiny.

Emmett: You fall asleep during the West Wing.
Elle: Yeah, but have you seen what they're wearing?

Emmett: You know what I thought when I first met you?
Elle: God, that woman wears a lot of pink?

Elle: So speak up, America. Speak up for the home of the brave. Speak up for the land of the free gift with purchase. Speak up, America!

Elle: Paulette, I taught Bruiser to shop online, I think I can handle congress.

Stanford Marks: You're the girl with the perfumed poo-poo bags, aren't you?
Elle: Actually I'm the woman with the scented waste receptacles, but yes

Overview and Review of the movie Sex and the City.

The ever famous TV series finally got a movie. And everyone's excited and they are right to be!

Mr. Big and Carrie Bradshaw finally moved in a beautiful New York Apartment, after hearing a side comment about marriage and living-in, Carrie got around to ask Big about marrying. And the simple planned wedding of 75 suddenly jumped to 200 guests when Carrie was made as a front cover in Vogue.

Saw this movie twice. Love is the answer and the key! Was touched in some of the scenes... and I admire their friendship... really really great! :)

What Renews You?

Kristina, you're renewed by purchasing power

You know that retail therapy is no joke. It works! Sometimes life's demands can make you feel like you have no choices, that you don't have as much control over things as you'd like. But when you set off to find yourself a terrific new outfit or that perfect touch for your home, you've got a world of choices. Thinking over your true tastes, trying different options on for size, and scoring that fabulous find are all little indulgences that erase life's irritations with ease. It's not that you're obsessed with the material world, it's just that buying the tiniest of trinkets or a gift for someone you care about can soothe your troubles away — without doing too much damage to your credit card statement.

Reef Sandals

Ready for summer? I'm sure everyone is... and of course summer always screams BEACH. And when beach is in mind... you would have to buy a new suit(you need), umbrella, shorts, snorkels and of course sandals!!

Now, I just learned that Active Sandals ships Reef sandals direct nationwide. In addition to the largest selection of Reef Sandals Online, they also feature: Rainbow, Chaco, Keen, Medium, Cobian, Crocs, and more! Reef's is the world's leader in authentic surf-inspired footwear. It's not just fancy, with no use or it is just another cute sandal and of no use.. think again!

There are a couple of designs, I really like...

  • Sandy - Red/Green or the Sangria/Pink - It is comfortable... and has a cute design and color I'm sure I would like.
  • Stash - Light Gray - This one is so unique, aside from the fact that I like the color... I love the concept of "Stashing your valuables in this sandal. Believe it!
  • Sand- this one is from Rainbow and it is a premier leather. They are ALL HANDMADE so each pair may vary a bit.
  • Crocs Flip Flops - The Beach(Orange) - This is the original model of Crocs. It is very comfortable and it molds with your feet. It is also anti-microbial and odor resistant. Now that's something!
  • Antigua -Kiwi -This sure takes the luxury of a comfort sandal and thus combines it with a beach inspired flip flop. It has a unique design.. I'm sure most of you would like. :P
  • Payday - Black - from Sanuk (the surfer's choice). I really like this one... since it is just simple and just black (although other colors are available). This a sexy "after beach" sandal. IT has a slight heel lift and a tapered strap.
  • Chica - White - I like this one because of its woven grass stra. Also from Sanuk.
  • Candy Stripe - Pink - From Sanuk as well. I like the vibrant color!!! and it's pink and stripes! It's also on saleeee!! wooo. Looks very comfortable and it has a soft fabric toe thong post.
  • Knot Me - Copper - This also comes in silver and in black and from Sanuk. I like it's simple design. It has a light weighed padded wrapped footbend and it's multi stranded strap with a knot detail.
  • Fiji - White - from Cobian. It has a durable rubber bottom-sole and slightly elevated (for people who likes elevated sandals) and a synthetic strap. I like ittt!
  • Ariel - Lime - which also comes in Coral, Gold, and blue. Its flat and it has a thin and metallic strap which I like.

They also have men styles from different brands that I just mentioned. Whats good is that they are on a CLEARANCE sale!!!MOst of the styles I have mentioned above are sandals that ranges from $9.00 - $25.00. Hurryy and grab your own Reef Sandals Online. They have really good sandals...and nice designs!!! They also have designer jeans and fashion shirts.

Fine Things - Danielle Steel

Overview and Review of Fine Things by Danielle Steel.

Category: Books

Genre: Love

Author: Danielle Steel

It’s about a guy named Bernard Fine who was pretty much contented with working as a senior vice-president at Wolff’s Department Store in New York. He loves everything about New York, even the weather.

But, when Wolff’s decided to transfer him to open a store in California, he was not thrilled about leaving New York he have come to love. But, he has no choice…. he was so good at everything that the company would not want any other employee but him to start Wolff’s at California. In California… he is about to find the love of his life… named Liz who has a beautiful young daughter named Jane.

It’s a short, sweet story, although predictable and not unlike most of her works I’ve read… this was uhmm the least that I liked. But, it’s nice and heartwarming…. it was just predictable that’s all.

Are you Fashion Forward?

Kristina, your Alternative Style makes you fashion forward

Khakis? No thanks. Let's face it: Mainstream is kinda, well, boring. We're guessing you'd rather be caught dead than be caught at Abercrombie (unless it's to snicker at all the people dressed exactly the same). But more than that, you know that bucking the rules of fashion is way cooler than following trends, and that's because nothing's more "in" than following your own heart. Who cares what those people think anyway? You're too busy having fun to notice.Maybe you haven't dared to rock pink hair or pierce your belly button just yet, but we wouldn't be surprised. Just remember — tattoos are permanent, so don't go too crazy!
