Children of the Pearl - Ching Yun Bezine

Category: Books

Genre: Friendship

Author: Ching Yun Bezine

Review and Overview of Children of the Pearl by Ching Yun Bezine.

This is a story of four children namely Quanming, Meiping, Fachai and Loone who came from cities and towns near the Pearl River as they journeyed across the Land of Gold Mountains.

Each having their own reasons to escape or was forced to flee China. Each went through hard times during their stay in China and now the four of them is about to meet at a ship that would lead them to a Land of Golden Mountains - the land of White Devils.

It's a nice story about friendship. It shows you a lot about what China had gone through before, how the people fared over the land of China. It shows Chinese tradition and everything. It also shows San Francisco's Chinatown at the turn of the century a place where the rich live alongside the poor.

The four struggled on with their lives as strangers to the said country. Each having their own worries and anxities.

An ending unlike any other book about friends. It has a good and a bad ending for the four. I kind of cried at the end...

SVU - #1 College Girls

Category: Books

Genre: Teenage Series

Created By: Francine Pascal

Overview and Review of College Girls the first book of Sweet Valley University created by Francine Pascal.

Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield along with their friends, Todd Wilkins, Enid Rollins and Winston Egbert are about to begin their COLLEGE DAYS.

Elizabeth's having a bad start; Jessica moving out from their dorm getting stuck with Celine which is a much worst roommate than Jessica was, Todd getting so busy getting "on board" whatever athletes are doing and fitting in, and Enid Rollins is not the same Enid she grew up with.

I had fun reading this book. It took me back to my "Sweet Valley freak days", maybe that's why I still love the series even when I'm all grown up now. :)

The spark of Sweet Valley is still with me......

Very entertaining, comical and exciting as well. :) Good for freshmen in college. :P

Cloud Nine - Luanne Rice

Category: Books

Genre: Family

Author: Luanne Rice

Overview and Review of Cloud Nine written by Luanne Rice.

Luanne Rice brings you to another island drama.....

Sarah Talbot is dying and she never thought of living and experience another birthday. But, despite everything she overcomed the disease and was able to live through her birthday and reopened her quilt bedding shop called Cloud Nine.

On her birthday, her friend a nurse named Meg who took good care of her treated her to a plane ride since she knew Sarah would enjoy it. There, Sarah met a man that would change her life.

It's a pretty heartwarming story with a lovely setting. The ending might not be the usual ending Luanne Rice has... but it's still good. Nice story. :)

A review and overview of Seasons by Constance O'Day Flannery.

A story about three sisters, each of them having their own shattering secrets. Allie, Ginny and Nancy. Allie acted like a mother to the two, Allie and Ginny led their lives protecting Nancy, while Ginny and Nancy always argues most of the time when they meet having Allie in the middle.

Allie prided herself with a perfect marriage with one son and one daughter. Ginny prided herself with her wealth and success. Nancy on the other hand is having an exciting life of an advertising career.

Each living a lie..... and as seasons change...... they would all come together......

Nice story. I like the way it was written, a bit comical and a fast-read.

Hugh Jackman

Movies that Stars Hugh Jackman:

Special Delivery - Danielle Steel

Category: Books
Genre: Love
Author: Danielle Steel

Review and overview of Special Delivery by Danielle Steel.

Jack Watson ownss one of the most successful boutiques in Beverly Hills called Julie's with two adult children who were the love of his life.

He avoided marriage after two incidents one, having a failed marriage and two, the brief and tragic death of the woman he truly loved the most. Ever since then, he does not like attachment and was said to be an incurable playboy always in the tabloids and newspapers when seen with Hollywood's most beautiful WOMEN most of the time.

Not Steel's best, I seem to like her sagas compared to these kind of stories but it's entertaining. I like the delivery scene... very comical. :)
