It's the coolest job ever.

A review and overview of the movie The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

A Jerry Bruckheimer film!!

Nicolas Cage is Balthazar Blake, a master sorcerer who has been trying to defend Manhattan from his arch-enemy, Maxim Horvath. Balthazar can't do it solo, so he recruits Dave Stutler, a regular guy who apparently demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant apprentice. Balthazar gives Dave a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, they must work to stop the forces of darkness.

It's not exactly close to Harry Potter. It's ultra modern wizardry. I had trouble with the lead actor Dave's voice... but over all his character seems geeky and funny which was I think the point of the movie. I loved the explanation about Baltazar explaning the steps in doing magic:

Step 1: Clear your mind,

Step 2: Focus on the molecules, and

Step 3: Make them shake

The Tesla Coils reminds me of Cafe World over at Facebook when one wants to have a Lightning Stove. *laugh laugh*

I love the soundtrack :)

Quotes I Like:

Balthazar: Keep it subtle. Civilians must not know that magic still exists. That could make things complicated.
Dave: Alright, Mr. Pointy Hat.

Balthazar: This is the Merlin Circle. It focuses your energy. Helps you master new spells. It is where you will learn the Art. Step inside, you leave everything else behind. Once you enter, there is no going back.
Dave: So I should probably pee first?

Balthazar: Love is a distraction. Sorcery requires complete focus.

Balthazar: You will not control your magic if you will not control yourself.
